Abbie is a Naturopath and Product Developer who is a passionate wellness advocate with a special interest in food as medicine – specifically eating for health to achieve weight loss, radiant energy and prevent and improve health conditions. Abbie’s other passion is high quality, evidence-based natural products.
Tell us about what you do and why?
My business, the ‘Natural Product Centre’ helps brands in Australia and abroad to develop and launch natural healthcare products. Every day I strive to live a healthy fulfilled life. So much of this is about diet, lifestyle and relationships. Working in an industry where I am surrounded by holistic practitioners, healthcare brands and the new frontiers of health-related research, means that I’m constantly inspired and learning!
Why are you such a firm believer in the IQS philosophy?
High consumption of sugar (especially fructose!) and processed foods undoubtedly has wide-reaching heath impacts. We simply cannot live as the best version of ourselves if we eat this way. Beyond that, the IQS philosophies of ‘just eating real food’, ‘cook-ups’, ‘community support’ and ‘enjoying delicious foods and drinks’ is a sustainable, convenient and enjoyable way to achieve optimal health and wellness.
The IQS Team are coming for dinner. What are you cooking us?
I love share plates or family-style foods when entertaining – there is something so casual and social about it. I would serve a selection of Aussie/Asian infusion dishes with a nice glass of red (my current fav is Pig in the House Shiraz – an organic local wine). Aussie Style San Choy Bow served with homemade hoisin. I use kangaroo mince for an Australian twist – it’s high protein, lean, sustainable, local, inexpensive and tasty – what’s not to love!
