Dr Lewis Ehrlich is a Sydney-based holistic dentist at Sydney Holistic Dental Centre who believes good health starts with the mouth. He was referred to us through another one of our experts and as soon as we connected, it was clear Lewis was going to be an excellent addition to our team of experts.

Tell us about what you do and why?

As a holistic dentist, I educate people about the many links between oral health and general health, explaining how good health literally starts with the mouth. This encompasses nutrition, oral hygiene, sleeping, breathing, and posture. My father and uncle have both worked as holistic dentists since the 1980s, so I’ve been acutely aware of the mouth-body connection since I was a child. I’m also a fitness trainer, health coach and former professional soccer player – so I’m obsessed with performance and helping people find the healthiest version of themselves.

Why are you such a firm believer in the IQS philosophy?

I see the destruction that sugar causes on a daily basis. If the hardest part of the body (teeth) have holes in them, it’s scary to think what some people’s dietary choices are doing to the rest of their body!

Tell us your number one health tip in under 25 words.

Prioritise your sleep – it’s the most important part of the day. Often poor dietary choices are made due to a poor night’s sleep.
