Raj Barker is a nutritionist and yoga teacher doing her best to unravel the meaning of life through her passionate belief that “food is medicine” and yoga heals. Originally from Sydney, Raj is now based in NYC, offering consultations online all over the world.

Tell us about what you do and why?

I work to empower people when it comes to their diet and lifestyle, guiding them and educating them on how to achieve optimum health and happiness. When it comes down to it, it doesn’t requite too much thought and processing either, just simple discipline, drive and a light heart. I want people to understand that they’re supposed to feel good and that they already have everything they need. A few tweaks and you’re well on your way…

Why are you such a firm believer in the IQS philosophy?

I like simple food, uncomplicated ingredients and have a fresh and whole approach to eating. Removing sugar is a no-brainer! The implications of consuming refined sugar are something I see all too often amongst my clients and by simply cutting out this one ingredient, you can turn your health status around completely.

The IQS Team are coming for dinner. What are you cooking us?

As I mentioned earlier, I like simple food. I’d probably roast up some seasonal veggies, cook up some quinoa, make a basil pesto from scratch and throw in a bunch of fresh leafy greens. Sprinkled with toasted pine nuts, pink salt, cracked pepper and that’s me done!

Tell us your number one health tip in under 25 words.

Don’t take it all too seriously. Inject fun wherever you can. Show up, do your best and stay true to yourself.
