Every now and then we ask fab sugar-free fans to share their I Quit Sugar stories. First up, the delightful model, actress and TV host Megan Gale.
Megan’s been a model for more than 20 years and is the face of L’Oreal Paris. She’s also a host, judge and producer of Project Runway Australia, and creative director of her own swimwear label Isola by Megan Gale. Oh, and a little while back she quit sugar and tweeted us to say she’d bought the book and had plunged into the program.To read what Megan eats on the program click here.
I just finished my 8-Week Program. It’s been an interesting journey. The first two weeks were HORRIBLE! I just felt so weak (mentally). It didn’t help either that both those weeks I was back and forth between Melbourne and Sydney and I was staying in hotels. The times when I could grocery shop and make my own food it was, of course, much easier, especially with your awesome recipes. I also had 10 days in LA and Mexico around the 3-4 week mark and that was tough too.
Despite all this, I didn’t fall off the wagon. And for the first two weeks I stayed around the 1-3g of sugar per 100g mark and then from week three I kept the sugar levels below 6/100g.
I also gave up alcohol around week four and coffee around week six. Coffee was something I’d been trying to give up for a while as I was too dependent on it. It was much harder letting go of that than sugar as it was by far my biggest addiction.
