Natasha’s story: “I quit sugar, lost 12kg and healed my chronic pain!”

Natasha couldn’t remember life without pain.

After suffering metal poisoning from a hip replacement, the mum-of-four struggled to get through the day without heavy painkillers.

Reaching breaking point, Natasha decided to quit sugar to see if it would help…

Sugar was the only thing that got me through constant discomfort.

My whole body felt inflamed. I only got two hours of broken sleep per night I was in so much pain. I also was trying to run my own business and raise my four school-age daughters with my loving and supportive partner.

When all I wanted to do was sleep, I ate sugar.

The worst time of day was around  2pm when all I wanted to do was sleep. Instead, I ate sugar. I remember the turning point for me was when I ate four very large chocolate chip cookies in one sitting and still wanted to eat more!

Something had to give.

I decided to go cold turkey off sugar to see if it would help with the inflammation.

This led me to Sarah Wilson’s books and the I Quit Sugar: 8-Week Program – what a game changer! I had been on and off diets since 14 and they had always required me to measure every morsel of food that I put into my mouth.

But Sarah and the Program revolutionised the way I thought and felt about food. Not once did I feel like this was a diet or restricting.

Quitting sugar caused an amazing reaction in my body.

The inflammation started to settle down! Because I was in so much pain I had to give up my business, but now I now regularly spend six hours on my feet at my new job. I no longer suffer from chronic pain and rarely need pain killers anymore.

I also lost 12kg, but to be honest, this just seems like the cherry on top!  Since then, I’ve thrown out my scales, a huge step for me. Now I just move and JERF everyday and know the rest will take care of itself!

I can’t speak highly enough of this user-friendly Program.

Even though I’ve quit sugar now, I have two folders of Program recipes I regularly use. My children are a lot more conscious of what makes a healthy diet – one of my daughters has even completely quit sugar!

In fact, I’ve inspired a number of my friends and family to give it go because of the changes they have seen in me! I am constantly told how healthy and vibrant I now look and how radiant my skin appears.

My life has completely changed.

The whole process has started an interest in food for me and I have undertaken a nutrition course to help me understand even more about what I have learnt.

Since I have completed the Program, I’ve reduced my inflammation, lost a lot of weight and have even started exercising regularly. I easily complete my targeted 10,000 steps.

I’m also about to start running workshops to help inspire others to live their best life every day. People with chronic pain need to know that there is a light!
