Plus, it’s difficult to ditch the sweet stuff short-term, it needs to be over a longer period of time so you are able to fully experience the benefits of a life without sugar. And, sugar – particularly fructose – is hella addictive, so you can’t expect to be happily sugar-free after a week or two.

This is the amount of time for a behaviour to become second nature – so, you’re able to complete a task without having to remember how to do so. It makes sense then, that we guide your effort to ditch the sweet stuff over eight weeks, only tackling one area per week so it has enough time to settle in and become automatic. But, don’t worry – checking food ingredient labels and saying no to the office lolly jar will soon become the norm!
