Get pumped to meet one of our exciting new expert panellists for the January 8-Week Program. Libby Babet is an experienced personal trainer - and your key to reaching your exercise, health and fitness goals on the program.
You probably recognise this health and fitness powerhouse as one of the trainers from the Aussie TV hit, The Biggest Loser, but she’s also a speaker, presenter, author and the founder The Upbeat Fitness Studio in Sydney, and she’s on a mission to show people how to make exercise accessible and fun instead of a chore. The mum of 2 says it’s all about changing the way we approach it.
“I’m all about making nutrition simple and easy to understand, and making fitness fun, exciting and interesting. For me, it’s not about chasing the perfect body, counting calories or obsessing about exercise to reach a goal.”
In our January program, Libby will be hosting an inspiring DanceFit class to get you moving – and enjoying it too! After all, the best kind of exercise is the kind you don’t even realise you’re doing. These classes combine fun dance moves with strength and muscle training to produce a powerful and effective physical activity that gets your blood flowing and builds your bones and muscles up. Engaging in this kind of physical exercise provides invaluable benefits when quitting sugar, with studies finding that a combination of a healthy diet and exercise is far more effective in achieving health and weight-loss goals. The figures show that those who combine both can reduce their risk of cardiovascular disease by 19%, along with a 27% risk reduction for a variety of cancers. Best of all, DanceFit is a low-impact, balanced form of exercise to ease you into a long-term healthy lifestyle – and it’s not just good for your body, but your brain too. The American Psychological Association revealed that just 5 minutes of exercise can boost our mood by releasing those feel-good endorphins. Libby knows well the mental health benefits of movement – she says she’s seen the difference herself:
“When it comes to fitness, what I’ve found is that movement just makes people feel better about life. People who are fit and love movement are, generally, pretty happy people.”
Libby is keen to help our new 8-Week Program members get the motivation and energy to enjoy their lives and get excited about looking after their bodies. The trainer is also ready to break down confusing barriers to proper nutrition. She’s well aware of how confusing all the mixed information on food can be, with deceptive marketing and conflicting research leaving us all scratching our heads – and she’s here to simplify it and help you make the choices that work for you and your family.
Libby knows the key to eating – and snacking! – healthily and enjoyably. It’s why she co-founded Chief Nutrition and Beauty Food; after noticing the alarming number of inflammatory, sugar snacks lining the supermarket shelves, she knew change was needed to stem the rapidly-spreading obesity epidemic. The Beauty Food range has everything from tasty snacks to nutritious supplements to keep your body at peak performance. Their products are loaded with healthy fats to curb cravings and keep you fuller for longer, along with protein to fuel your body and boost your health, inside and out. Their snacks are also packed with collagen – this stuff happens to be the most abundant protein found in our bodies. It’s an essential for the process of making connective tissue in the body – simply put, this tissue is vital to our bones, skin, muscles, tendons and cartilage. This mum of 2 knows well the importance of keeping nutrition high while snacking – and she’s changing the game for all of us. No more sugary chocolates, chips and muesli bars – Libby will be sharing her tried-and-true tactics to eating good food, and enjoying it too.
She’s dedicated to helping us transform our lives, health and happiness through the power of good food and gentle exercise.
In Libby’s own words: “I believe I was put on this planet to help people be happy, feel good about themselves and live life to the full. Fitness and nutrition has proven to be the most impactful way for me to do that.”
