- 2 tablespoons curry powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin

- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons oil (coconut or vegetable oil)
- Fresh cilantro for garnish

- In a pot, combine the rinsed black beluga lentils with 3 cups of water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat, cover, and simmer for about 20-25 minutes or until lentils are tender but not mushy. Drain any excess water.
